Short Film

I shot a short film recently which is a story about love and loss.
I play the male lead who loved a beautiful woman who he had lost, there is more to it than that, but that is the main theme.
A lot of the shots were very tight on my face so this was a good task to see what kind of acting range I truly have.
I must say I am happy with the performance I did, I guess we will just have to wait to see the final result when the film is ready.

Just white shirts....and a whole lot more!

Recently I shot my first editorial for Just White Shirts, the shoot itself was for there website, flyer's, and the catalogue. JWS makes mostly dress clothing and accessories for men.
I had a wonderful time shooting with two beautiful female models, two great stylist, and an excellent fashion photographer.
I will be posting the ads and images up in the next week!

James Dean?

I had the pleasure of shooting an editorial recently that centered around the 40's and 50's style era.
Well they were casting for someone to fill the part of James Dean and ended up picking me.
The shoot was really very interesting and had us all feeling like we had stepped back in time.With a black leather jacket, dean inspired hair and the classic tee and tight jeans I sure was feeling it.

The pictures will be out in the next few weeks, so when they do you can decide for your self if I really fit the part.

It's all about the hair

Recently I was casted for the Toni and Guy Hair show featuring cloths by Gsus.
The models were all made over for the big runway show that took place at Lobbey in Yorkville.
There were several hundred people that turned out to take a look at the newest hair styles for 2008, along with some great cloths from some amazing designers.

I have to shot out to Sandro and his crew at Toni and Guy 180 Bloor West, for a great time and a wicked new hair style.

One day at a time.

Really when it comes down to it I just love what I do and working for me is just so enjoyable.
Recently I shoot for a Canadian clothing company, well two actually, and a campaign for a big photo company.
I have also done several creative shoots recently to update my portfolio.
I will post the pictures to my website alone with all the info in the next few weeks.

Just taking it all one day at a time.

Gone are the days of ICON

After a very interesting year, well to be exact 15 months I have announced that I am leaving Icon Model Management.
I had some really good times and some really hard times, but I sure did learn a lot, about the industry and myself.
I am not sure what the future holds but I am very optimistic about the possibilities.

For now I am in talks with several agencies but have not made any decisions at this point, but I will keep you posted.

All good things must come to an end

Yesterday was the last day of shooting for the comedy feature I have been working on for the past month.
It was really one of the most fun, interesting and challenging projects I have done thus far.
I must admit that I am sad that it is over, but I really did enjoy every moment, and I just feel so lucky to have been casted in this movie.

I have to send a shot out to Adrian and Nick for casting me in this part, and also the rest of the crew for making it such a wonderful and easy atmosphere to work in. Thank you so much!

In Stores, Online, In Magazines, On TV, In Film

OK so I am really seeing that my hard work is paying off lately.
The cover of the book I shot "Her Best Man" is in stores now, the two music video's for Betty Vale, and the Cliks and on the Internet, as well as hundred of pictures on photo sharing and photographers websites, I have pictures out in two different magazines, two commercials running on TV, and will soon be featured in my first full length film.
Could I be more excited, I think not!

Beaver

I have been shooting my first major role in a full length film, and I have been having so much fun.
I play the role of beaver in the new comedy by cbw productions.
I have been shooting for three weeks now and have two weeks to go.
Let me tell you, if I could shoot movie after movie for the rest of my life I would be a happy man, it gives me a creative outlet and is interesting and the time on set just flies by.
I've got to say I am really a lucky guy!

The Next Level

This is a Picture from a recent shoot I did. Yes Inessa is in yet another shoot with me, I just can't get enough.lol
Seriously though this picture is in my opinion one of my best to date, and has recently got the attention of some really big clients and labels.
These next few month look like they are going to be very exciting, interesting new times for me, I am ready to move to the next level!

Naked Man...no it's not what you think

Recently I was the "Naked Man" for Lush Cosmetics. I know what you are thinking but there was actually no nudity involved. I was a spokes model for there "Naked" campaign, as they don't use packaging on most of there wide range of natural products.
I had a wonderful time, met some great people, and discovered some really amazing products.

I also just wanted to say thank you to Marissa and the girls at Lush for making everything perfect.

My First Movie, kind of...

So I recently landed my first major role in a full length film. The film is a comedy that centers around the death of a man with an interesting past, and an even more bazaar present.
The first time I read the script I new I had to be a part of this movie.
Shooting started September 9th and continues into early October.
I would say that I was excited to do this project but that would be an understatement.
I am just so happy that I was chosen and know that this will be an amazing experience.

Back in Action!

I took some time for myself over the last few weeks, but some great opportunities have come up, and I have been pulled back in.
I have had casting for major clothing lines, movies, various photo shoots, promo modeling and everything else in between.
I am really looking forward to the next month or so because I know some great new projects are coming my way.

I need a second!

So far 2007 has been a great year for my career, and I don't really have to much to complain about.
After shooting a book cover, various shoots including; five artistic shoots, four commercial, three editorial, and two conceptual as well as two tv commercials, two music videos, a billboard, a cd cover, five runway shows, a hair show, a tv show, and worked as a spokes model.
(and I am also recording my first full length album)

After all that, I need some time to get away.
With all that has happened this year, I have not been able to see friends and family that often, and have also had no personal time/life.
Well now some personal issues have come up forcing me to take a step back for the next little while, I will not be "away" for too long, but I really need some time for me!

The Cliks

So this past week I was on set for the cliks new video for "complicated" working as the male lead.
The video was shot a Lee's Palace in Toronto.
The Video shoot was very sexual and a little on the raw side but it was alot of fun and defiantly something that was new to me.
I was able to chat with the lead singer Lucas, she is one nice lady, who really knows how to rock the show, they are going to do big things!
As usual I had a great time, made some money, and found yet another way for people to see my soon to be overexposed face. lol

The Dark Art

This past week I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with Geoff Simpson again.
The focus of the shoots was "dark art", which ranged from a series in full armor, to graphic pictures of a heroine addict. The shoot took place at a downtown studio in Toronto and also at several outdoor locations.
The shoots were a joint effort between Geoff and myself, which was very exciting for me, as most of the shoots I have done have been styled by others.
Paje Pokjowy a wonderful Toronto based Make-up artist joined us for the second day of shooting, and was a great asset in pulling off the creative idea's we had for the shoot.
I am so excited to see the pictures, I am sure these pictures will be some of my best work to date!

HelloMoto

This Past weekend was Pride in Toronto, and I was there working as a Motorola Man.
Let me tell you that was quite the experience. I must of had my picture taken 3000 times over the weekend, I met a lot of really nice people who were just there to have a really great time and celebrate with other like minded people.
I really had a wonderful time even though I was working, and the painting part of it wasn't so bad, it was just a bitch to get off(see image below).
All and all is was a great time and the product we were promoting is part of the red campaign that the singer, Bono started so it raises money for Aids research in Africa, as a portion of the proceeds of each phone sold goes to the cause.
Having a great time while doing something good, it doesn't get much better than that!

Movies?

So over the last few weeks I have been approached to cast for a slew of movies.
Some are big full length features and others and independent shorts.
Of course anyone who knows me, is aware that I never stray away from a challenge.
So I have met with producers, casting agents, all kinds of different industry people, and have read for a few different parts, where I was drawn in by the script.
They are all a range which makes it interesting, a thriller, comedy, and two drama's.
I am looking forward to seeing what comes out of all this as it would be an interesting turn in my career.
You never know right!

Shooting, Shooting, Shooting

No I haven't picked up a new hunting obsession, I am shooting new pictures for my portfolio/website and have been now for about five weeks.
Through many different sources I have met new photographers and make-up artists and am shooting many times, and in many different styles over the next while.
I am continuously trying to evolve as a model and push my pictures to the extreme.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the blog, a model is always in search of the perfect picture.

Art of Denim/Sparkle

At the end of may I walked in 3 runway shows bambumoda, art of denim and sparkle.The clothing lines that a modeled over the shows were; Lifetime Clothing,Mehnaz,Fidelity Denim,100 Miles Clothing,LRG, and Famous stars and Straps.
I had a lot of fun, met some really great people and as always got some great pictures out of the experience.
Thanks to "Z" and Mecca for all of there hard work, and for including me in these events.

Bambumoda Fashion Show - Toronto Week of Style 2007

So I walked in the Bambumoda show for Toronto Week of Style 2007 this week. It was a great show.
They showcased several collections from some amazing Canadian designers. At the event were photographers from the major news papers, TV crews from the local stations, and we were followed by star daily, and also by a few of the Toronto fashion magazines.
The idea of the show is to open up Canadian designers to international buyers, as well as showing what Canada has to offer to the press and the general public in the world of fashion.
One more great experience under my belt, and I sure did have a blast and this was just the first out of three :)

In search of the great picture

I have been having the time of my life over the past few months. I have had some of the greatest experiences and met some really cool people.
In the last few weeks I have been lucky enough to meet some really amazing photographers, and am re-building my portfolio.
It is always interesting going to meet a new photographer, as you are going into there space to work with them and you really done usually know them that well.
This week was perfect, I shot with the first two photographers , and they were wonderful, it was comfortable and easy to work with both.
I already saw a preview for both sessions and I am so excited because as we all know, a model is always in search of that one great picture.

Beautiful weather in the beautiful life

I have been casting a lot, as usual but I have made a point to walk to all of my castings because the weather has been so beautiful and sunny.
Not to mention that it is great exercise!
Life has been busy as always.
This past week I cast for a major clothing label.
I also had casting for two runway shows, a PSA, and a short film.
Also this week I shot the new CD cover for a Canadian band PB Futures. It was such a comfortable shoot with great people. I had the opportunity to meet the band and have a great night of fun.
Great projects seem to keep coming my way and I couldn't be doing better.

I am sure that the future will only bring big and better opportunities!

Casting Season

Casting Casting Casting... I feel lately like that is what takes up most of my time. In the past few weeks I have gone on castings for a CD cover, TV show host, two print campaigns, a watch commercial as well as an optical commercial and a runway show and many more.
I have also been booking a fair bit of work. I shot a commercial for a Asian restaurant, a music video for a new artist, a book cover, a new shoot for my portfolio and a boxing shoot for a photographers website.

It is always hard that you never know what your next job will be......but what a ride it has been so far, and this is just the beginning. I am sure that the summer will bring more adventures in this crazy world that will only become more exciting as time passes.

So Excited

So many of you already saw my new Finesse commercial but if you haven't you can check it out at www.markmunroe.com .
I shot the commercial here in Toronto at an office building in liberty village at the beginning of March, it was shot over one day ( 10 hours) and was really fun to work on.
Yet another job that was just a wonderful experience and i am sooo happy with the finish product.
