In Memory of My Grandfather

John Herald Folks Burton (July 27th 1915 - July 17 2010)

I am truly blessed in my life to have had a wonderful grandfather that I spent so much time with.
After 12 years of battling with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's my grandfather passed away July 17 while surrounded by his loving family
My grandfather was funny, kind, well spoken, giving, smart, understanding, and a great listener.
I remember many times when I was younger spending time with my grandfather telling me about fighting in the war, us watching old movies together, going to the market, and reading C.S. Lewis books.
My grandfather always believed in me and all my crazy ideas and thought that I could do anything if I set my mind to it.
The greatest lesson that I learned from him is that you can get what you want from life, without compromising who you are and what you believe in, and that is one of the greatest things I have ever learned.
So for all the smiles, all the wonderful advise, all the great times we had, I say thank you, thank you, thank you.
You will always live on in my heart as the wonderful man that you were!!

One of My Favorite Things!! Part 2

I, like most other people right now LOVE Lady Gaga, and I am really enjoying her new remixes album.
Even though there are more the one remix of some of the same songs, I really love the remix of Alejandro, Bad Romance, and my favorite remix on the album, Dance In The Dark.
I have found myself listening to it a lot as I walk/run as most of the tracks are pretty fast!!
So if your a Gaga fan, check it out today!!

The Canadian Open and BMW

So I spent the Thursday to Sunday representing BMW at the Canadian Open at St. Georges Golf Course in Toronto.
It was a wonderful four days spent talking with people about BMW and Golf, as well as watching some really great golfers including Pettersson (The Winner of the Canadian Open 2010)
The weather as always was all over the place but for the most part was really nice.
I got to check out the 2011 line-up for BWM as well as get right in and check out there new 2011 Active Hybrid X6 and 7 Series, and they were amazing.
All in all it was an awesome four days, and I look forward to doing it again next year!!

Checking out the course yesterday at the Canadian Open

I have the pleasure this year of representing BMW at the Canadian Open, so yesterday we got to check out the course and also take a look a several models from the BMW 2010 line-up.
The Canadian Open is held at St-Georges Golf Course, which is a beautiful city course just outside of the downtown.
I will be at the Open form Thursday July 22 - Sunday July 25th, and I am looking forward to taking it all in and representing the BMW brand!!

One of My favorite Things!!

So I thought I might as well blog about some of favorite things as well, since I have so many things I love!!!

The Sweet Hereafter is one of my very favorite books.
It is the story of a small town shook by a tragic accident, told through the view points of several different people.
The book is so well written, and the story, although sad, is such a wonderful and captivating read, you may just love it as much as I do, all 6 times I have read it!!

Bravo Summer Thrillers Commercial Series

This is the series of Commercials I shot for Bravo recently, that are running this summer!
It was a lot of running, a lot of sweating, and a lot of fun!
The crew and director were so amazing to work with and we had a wonderful day shooting these spots!!

"Last Supper" Shoot

This image is called the "Last Supper", it was taken by Ivan Otis, and was part of a series being done by The History Channel Canada.

The day started out bright and early, I was picked up and taken by van to Hamilton, ON in the industrial area. I got out and saw a huge complex and walked inside to see I huge backdrop and a projector in the middle of this massive wear house. I went through make-up and had fake teeth put in as the spin to the shoot was that it was Vampires at the last supper.

Then I went through wardrobe and basically had a leather corset put on along with a leather studded crown as I was to be the part of vampire Jesus at the last supper.

By the time I had gone through make-up and wardrobe I was really ready to shoot, we got on set and it was a fairly quick and serious shoot, most probably mainly due to the theme of the shoot. (If your wondering we are in front of a white film screen with a projector shooting the image around us.) I then also shot solo as vampire Jesus in gold chains and a gold leaf crown (photo to come soon).

All in all it was a wonderful day in which we were able to make some amazing photos, so as always I was happy for the job, and elated at the end result!

I had such a great time shooting this series, and unlike a lot of female models I have worked with, Ortal was really easy going and great to work with, even if half the day was shot outside in the rain.

Lady Gaga Live July 11 in Toronto, What an amazing show!!

So I saw Lady Gaga in concert July 11 2010 at the ACC in Toronto.

It was an amazing show and I had the pleasure of going to see it with my BFF and Blogger extraordinaire Nadia!!
